In the area of l'Esquerra de l'Eixample we find the restaurant specializing in tartars La Tartarería · Raw food. Chef Pedro Silva and his partner Tere Sanchez wanted to create a different concept to get away from the usual and provide an original idea for the city of Barcelona.

La Tartarería · Raw food · is the first restaurant with Tartar as the main protagonist; accompanied by other raw, undercooked or low-temperature products. You will find 100% fresh products, whether they are direct from the sea or farms to our restaurant.

When you enter La Tartareria you will find an industrial, elegant and at the same time cozy design, where the mural designed and painted by hand by a local artist takes on special relevance.

La Tartarería offers you: from Tuesday to Friday a weekly midday menu as long as it is not a holiday.

Saturdays, nights and holidays two tasting menus.

Silva

Pedro Silva, a Portuguese chef, studied at the Oporto hotel school, and completed his studies at the Bellart school in Barcelona.

He began his professional experience in the Algarve, followed by Barcelona and London, he has worked for international companies and Michelin star restaurants.

Finally he decides to open his own restaurant in Barcelona in the company of his wife Tere Sanchez.

His origin is discovered in details of the restaurant such as the tiles so characteristic of his land or in the bread and appetizers that welcome you, his cuisine is a review of each and every one of the places and countries in which he has traveled and worked. , and this is reflected in the diversity of flavors of its tartars, each one of them individually designed.

In his kitchen you can find a classic steak tartare (of course it could not be missing as one of his star dishes), but even this has his personal touch, you can also find great fish and seafood tartars, always using high quality raw materials and products of proximity.

Tere Sanchez, Director of the restaurant, studies law in Barcelona, until she discovers her true vocation: the hospitality industry.

He has always based his career in Barcelona, but working for some of the best international hotel companies and highly prestigious restaurants in the city, where he learned the profession, as well as the taste for customer service and attention to detail.

For her, a great restaurant has to be the perfect combination between kitchen and dining room, one cannot exist without the other. That's why she always welcomes her customers with a smile and tries to make her experience in the restaurant a memorable one.

I had wanted to come for a long time, encouraged by the good reviews and yesterday I dined at this restaurant with my husband. The place is small, discreet, with a slight industrial air, austere and elegant. A more than impeccable service, the 2 people in the room, excellent in treatment, kindness and courtesy. An impressive presentation, design, quality of raw materials and elaborations. A detail that I loved: the volume of the music when entering was a little high, for my taste, and without saying anything, the volume lowered and a residual sound remained, which allowed us to have a very calm conversation, and enjoy the excellent food that awaited us. From the menu whose dishes were all to share were: Natural or grilled oyster with beurre blanc and XO, king crab profiterole, organic veal tartare bikini with foie and almonds, white fish tartare, coconut and lime, scallop tartare with green sauce, crayfish tartare with pistachio and crispy flax, to choose from: classic or smoked steak tartare (we chose both) and grilled Iberian pork with celeriac purée. I can say that everyone, without exception, loved them! A price that is not excessively expensive for the quality that they offer, although, menu, wine and coffee, they amounted to 140 euros, the couple. In short, a delicious discovery, which I recommend without a doubt.

For some time we wanted to try this concept, and we were fascinated! Spectacular lobster tartar with pistachio and crispy flax. We also tried tuna tartare, loin tataki and we finished with the classic steak tartare! Amazing! The combination of flavors, explosive, very successful, and the presentation of the dishes, perfect. Thanks to the treatment received and the recommendations, the pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, with an open kitchen, you can enjoy preparing the dishes. Unbeatable. We will be back!

Simply amazing food, in a place with a very pleasant atmosphere and very correct and friendly staff. I ordered some courgette flowers stuffed with crayfish tartare absolutely amazing and a smoked beef tartare and potato waffle that I have no words to describe how good it was. They also brought me a mussel tartare as an appetizer and a homemade butter that was also good. The restaurant is not cheap, in my case when I went I only paid €43. But it's worth trying, I'm thinking of repeating it now!
